It was a sad, sad day when what entered the world as a quart-sized premature baby decided to ponder on the complexities of a falling apple instead of eating it (like any sensible person would do) and single-handedly created the bane of high school existence.
Immemorialised on the covers of the most mind-blowingly boring textbooks in the world, he has cultivated my hate and abject loathing since the 8th grade.
Stupid man, I bet his wife left him and he turned into a bum on the streets of wherever it was he lived....Newton I believe. What nonsense!

wat u wrote were ur thoughts..but still do u think it would be justice saying such things about such a great scientist whose complex mind and work has enabled us to live with comfort..but ofcourse there are a few difficulties that everyone should face
@ Anonymous - We want to live with comfort. The studying doesn't make life any comfortable.
u study to make your future secure...you secure your future for your children's future...no matter how hard it is studying, gaining knowledge always helps..you may not know it now but surely you would understand it later...and besides you are not forced to study...if u think studying makes you uncomfortable then y do u study??? r u doing this just for the heck of it thinking its a payback..
to haze: newton is one of the greatest minds this planet ever had...his knowledge, theories etc may not be of your interest but for some it is..and just for that u shouldnt say anythin abt the great mind....and as far as newton is concerned and as far as i kno you dont you you love math this MAY mean that you love calculus..and calculus as u kno was designed by newton(extremely helpful tool or we would still be living in caves)....

all i was tryin to say was that if you dont like studying wat newton designed atleast dont insult him...just like u have a certain role model newton is a role model for others and insultin someones role model isnt a gud thin to do...if u cant appreciate his works atleast dont try degrading their value...

ya i bust my butt now for the same reason. not because i like it but because i have to. i can't not study newtonian physics just because i don't like it. life doesn't work like that.
Where is Newtonian physics in 12th std. syllabus (I am asking out of curiousity because I don't have it).

Newton and Einstein are the two greatest minds to have ever existed. Plus, everyone knew the existance of gravity even before Newton. Do you think people were sooo stupid that they never why they would come down every time they jumped up???Its just that Newton gave a quantitative analysis of gravity and realised that the force that pulled the apple down is the same force that makes the moon revolve around the earth
Secondly, speaking of apples, there isn't much concrete proof that the apple incident took place. SO THERE

Oh yeah, assuming that the apple incident did take place, how do you know it would have taken place only with Newton? Are you telling me that in all these years of man's existance, no one ever sat under a tree and happened to see an apple fall down, except Newton? I bet they would have all eaten it. On the other hand, the actual story mayyyyy have been that a crow would have shat on Newton's head. And that would have set him thinking about gravity. Its just that textbooks cant print words like "shat" without getting into trouble. So, they made up the apple story, coz its, uhmm....... not crappy.
